Sailor Moon, also known as Usagi Tsukino, is the central protagonist of the Sailor Moon anime series. She first appeared in the anime in the first episode of the original series, titled "The Crybaby: Usagi's Magnificent Transformation," which premiered on March 7, 1992.

Usagi begins as a clumsy and emotional junior high student who discovers she is the reincarnation of a princess and destined to protect the Earth. She possesses the power to transform into Sailor Moon, a magical warrior.
